Professor Gaon (ガオン博士 Gaon-hakase) is one of the supporting characters in Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori.
He is a traveling lone-wolf scientist in search of things he wants to invent. He is intelligent, strong and resourceful. Despite being seemingly near perfect, his one downfall seems to be his lack of companionship. He and Zorori are equally matched and are friendly rivals who are able to put their differences aside and work against a greater force at times. He has his own Bukkura Koita he made himself, but it is no match for Zorori's original.
Appearance[]
Gaon is a wolf with brown fur, blonde hair, and blue eyes. When traveling he can be seen wearing a overcoat over a cream colored button up, red vest, and black tie. He also wears grey jeans with a holster around his waist that holds his Bukkura Koita. Notably he wears brown tasseled boots and a hat that resemble that of a cowboy's.
When he is not adventuring and is back at the castle he can be seen wearing a different, more regal, outfit. He is wearing a teal coat over a blouse with a red vest and blue tie. He also wears gray pants, white socks and brown shoes.
Personality[]
Gaon is very self dependent, he likes being on his own and not receiving help from anyone. It is shown through out the series though that deep down, Gaon yearns for the affection and attention of others, especially his mother. He hides these feelings behind a stoic and cool front. However, when around Zorori, he can behave a lot more sillier than usual, going to comedic lengths to compete with and outdo him.
Story[]
Gaon grew up wealthy in a huge castle with his mother, Queen Cynthia. His father is never mentioned. From what was read off his childhood diary in episode 47, he seemed to try rebelling against his royal life at times. "I ditched my fencing lessons for today and mama scolded me. I was so sad so I cried."
Gaon began traveling because of how restrictive his castle life felt. Gaon takes a lot of his luxuries for granted and says he dissatisfied with all of it. He explores the world because he thinks there is so much more out there. Ultimately he aims to live a life near identical to Zorori's.
